🇳🇱 Ook dit jaar organiseert De Stotterpraktijk het jaarlijkse stotterkamp Camp Dream. Speak. Live. in Nederland – en OntmoetingLokaal is trots om opnieuw de locatie te mogen zijn voor dit bijzondere evenement.
Sinds de eerste editie in 2021 heeft het kamp zich ontwikkeld tot een plek waar kinderen met stotteren niet alleen leren en groeien, maar vooral ook ervaren dat stotteren bij je hoort. Het is een onderdeel van wie je bent – en het mag er zijn.
Tijdens het kamp, dat plaatsvindt van dinsdag 29 april t/m vrijdag 2 mei 2025, werken de deelnemers aan hun communicatievaardigheden, zoals lichaamshouding en oogcontact. Er is ruimte om te oefenen met spreken, om kennis te delen over stotteren – zelfs met onbekenden op straat – én om gewoon plezier te maken.
Een bijzonder onderdeel dit jaar is de kunstles van een echte docent, waar creativiteit en expressie centraal staan. En dat allemaal in de warme, veilige omgeving van OntmoetingLokaal.
Wat dit kamp zo waardevol maakt, is dat kinderen zich niet alleen ontwikkelen, maar ook gewoon kind mogen zijn – met hun stotteren. Wij zijn als OntmoetingLokaal ontzettend blij met deze samenwerking. Het is prachtig om te zien hoe de kinderen elkaar ondersteunen, zichzelf durven zijn en de kracht vinden in iets dat vaak als kwetsbaarheid wordt gezien.

🇬🇧Camp Dream. Speak. Live. at OntmoetingLokaal
This year, De Stotterpraktijk is once again organizing the annual stuttering camp Camp Dream. Speak. Live. in the Netherlands – and OntmoetingLokaal is proud to once again be the host location for this special event.
Since its first edition in 2021, the camp has grown into a place where children who stutter not only learn and grow, but most importantly, experience that stuttering is a part of who they are. It’s not something that needs to be fixed – it belongs, and it’s allowed to be there.
During the camp, which takes place from Tuesday, April 29 to Friday, May 2, 2025, participants work on their communication skills, such as body posture and eye contact. There’s space to practice speaking, to share knowledge about stuttering – even with strangers on the street – and to simply have fun.
A special feature this year is an art class led by a real art teacher, where creativity and expression take center stage. And all of this happens in the warm, safe environment of OntmoetingLokaal.
What makes this camp so valuable is that children not only develop themselves, but also get to just be kids – with their stuttering. As OntmoetingLokaal, we are incredibly happy with this collaboration. It’s beautiful to see how the children support one another, dare to be themselves, and find strength in something that is often seen as a vulnerability.
